The journey of shirts: why we travelled to bhagalpur to find the truth of Pure Linen

our journey of finding the truth of pure linen

We have all been there. You buy a shirt labeled "Linen," expecting that breezy, cool-to-the-touch comfort. But after one wash, it feels stiff, scratchy, or just... wrong.
Why does this happen?
When we started Verinn, we decided we wouldn't just order fabric from a catalog. We packed our bags and traveled to Bhagalpur, the heart of India’s weaving heritage, to see the reality for ourselves.
The "Fake Linen" Discovery
What we found in the markets of Bhagalpur shocked us. We saw shop after shop selling fabric labeled "Pure Linen" that was, in reality, a blend. To cut costs, many sellers were mixing cotton or synthetic polyester into the weave.
Visually, it looked perfect. But when we touched it, we knew. It lacked that signature crispness. It didn't "breathe." It was a shortcut.
We realized that in today's market, finding true, 100% linen isn't just about sourcing; it is about detective work.
The Verinn Standard: Finding the 1%
We didn't settle for the open market. We dug deeper, navigating through the noise to find the few remaining authentic manufacturers who still honor the craft.
We don't just take their word for it. We physically inspect the fabric before we buy. We look for the "slubs"—those tiny, natural imperfections in the thread that machines can't fake. We test the texture to ensure it has that natural, cooling property that makes linen the ultimate fabric for Indian summers.

our story
From Bhagalpur to Kota: The Journey Home
Once we secure the pure fabric, it travels to our workshop in Kota, Rajasthan.
While many brands outsource their stitching to giant factories, we keep it in-house. In Kota, we handle the finishing, the cutting, and the stitching ourselves. This ensures that the purity we fought for in Bhagalpur isn't lost in a factory line.
Direct to Your Doorstep
By cutting out the middlemen (traders, wholesalers, and agents), we bring this journey directly to you:
• Source: Bhagalpur (Certified Pure)
• Make: Kota (Verinn Workshop)
• Wear: You.
When you wear a Verinn shirt, you aren't just wearing a piece of clothing. You are wearing the result of a long journey to find the truth in a market full of blends.
